The Discussion Board is a technology that your lecturer may use to communicate information to your class, start class discussions and can be used by other students to ask questions and share knowledge.
The Discussion Board tool in your units can have different forums. Within a forum are a series of threads that members of the discussion board can reply to. Some discussion boards will allow members to subscribe to a forum so you can be notified of conversations happening in that space. For example, if your unit has a forum dedicated to assignment questions, you can subscribe to this forum so you are notified as responses come in. Some of the available functions in the Discussion Board will depend on what your lecturer has allowed. If you can't see any of the functions mentioned above, get in touch with your lecturer to discuss.
