Music Subject Guide

Introduction to Music Subject Guide

The Edith Cowan University Library music collection is a teaching and learning resource of print and recorded music in classical, jazz, musical theatre and contemporary music genres. The music collection consists of over 9,600 compact disc and LP recordings, 45 900 items of sheet music, subscriptions services to online journals, music databases of print and recorded music and books in music literature and libretti.

Searching for music can be as informal as browsing the shelves to find music scores or a CD recording, to the more intensive use of the Library's web-based resources to locate particular information. Knowing what to look for and how to do it will save many hours during your studies.

This subject guide is designed to assist you and under each tab along the top of the page are important resources to help you with your learning, assignments & research. There are specialist library staff for WAAPA at Mt Lawley, Lutie Sheridan & Amanda Myers. Both are useful contacts and can help as can any library staff member and/or refer you on for further help.
