Academic Skills in Nursing and Midwifery: M7: Academic Integrity

Academic Integrity and Avoiding Plagiarism
What is Academic integrity?

Integrity is all about doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. Having integrity means believing in the principles and standards of our community and making sure your behaviour is consistent with those principles and standards.  It is also important that you act with integrity in the way you conduct yourself at university and abide by the university's academic integrity policy.

Academic Integrity means doing your own work, even if your friend offers you help. It means writing your own assignments and properly citing your information sources (better known as Referencing). It means taking an online quiz without help from your friends. Importantly, it also includes reporting someone you suspect has cheated on an exam or bought an assignment on-line.
