Subject Librarians

Subject Librarians assist teaching staff and students in making the best use of the library and information resources for teaching and learning needs and have created Library Guides for each subject area.

Subject Librarians provide: 

  • specialised research support for teaching staff and higher degree by research students via appointment 
  • deliver research and referencing workshops
  • research and referencing support via assignment and referencing drop-in sessions
  • deliver sessions tailored to teaching units and student needs

The Peer Assistants is a free service where senior students provide peer assisted support to ECU students who need help using learning technologies:

  • Blackboard
  • Turnitin
  • Panopto
  • PebblePad
  • Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • and other university technologies

Peer Assistants provide scheduled weekly technology and learning assistance to all ECU students face-to-face on campus and online chat. The Peer Support page has more information about service times and locations.

Library Assistants are ECU students who work in the Library outside business hours during the semester: 

  • Joondalup: 5:00pm - 8:00pm 
  • Mt. Lawley: 5:00pm - 10:00pm
  • Bunbury: 5:00pm - 8:00pm (Mon - Thurs)

They provide general library support and advice to Library customers. Library Assistants can help students: 

  • locate and retrieve online and print resources
  • assist with printing and photocopying
  • issue and return library items
