Mt Lawley library: Located on level 1

Library staff at the desk can also issue books.

Items can be returned at any ECU campus.

Mt Lawley and Bunbury Library: If the library is open you can return items at the front desk.

Joondalup library: Use the smart returns shelf, which will automatically remove the item from your card.

If you want to return items outside normal opening hours you can use the afterhours return chute. These are located near the library entrance on all campuses.

You can renew items up to 5 times as long as the item has not been ‘recalled’. Items may be recalled if they need to be added to the High Use Collection.

You can place a request on up to 30 items. When the item is available to collect you will be notified by email. The item will be available to collect for 5 days. Check your hold notification email for the last date you can pick up your items. If the item is not collected it will be returned to the shelf.

Overdue Items

Main Collection: When you borrow library items, they are issued with a due date. This is so that other people have a chance to borrow these items as well. If no-one requests an item that you have borrowed you can renew the item up to five times. You may borrow the item again after this period of time, if there are no requests. However, if you return an item after the due date there will be a fine of $2 per day, capped at $20. This system is to provide fair and equitable access to library items. If you have any queries please talk to library staff who can assist.

High Use Collection: Fines are $10 per hour, capped at $100.

Damaged and Lost Items

If an item is damaged or lost you will be sent an invoice $110 per item, plus a $10 processing fee.
