Document Delivery / Interlibrary Loans: Requesting loans or pages from a book

Obtaining access to items not owned by Edith Cowan University Library

Search for the item

Search for the item on ECU Library Search.

Once it has been determined that ECU library does not own the title you need, expand your search by ticking the Libraries Worldwide box and select "Print Book" format.
*** Please note ebooks can not be borrowed from other libraries.  If you submit a request for an ebook, a hardcopy alternative will be requested where possible or please contact ILL staff if you would prefer an e-chapter.

Find and click on the request button

Click on the book title in the search results to display the "Request from Libraries Worldwide'.

Click on the button to request this item.

If you haven't logged in already use your ECU ADS login to sign in to your library account.

***If there are no results, you may submit your request using the Blank Form

The details of your book request will automatically populate the request form.

Any chapter or page details can be provided on this form if a copy is required but must be Copyright compliant.

Check the information is correct.

Any information for ILL staff can be written in the Comment field.

You can choose your pickup location if different from your Home Campus.

Click on Submit

Tracking your requests

An email will be sent to your ECU email address with the request details.

You can track your requests in the library My Account, see more information

 

Loans from overseas libraries

Loans that need to be sourced from overseas can take 6 weeks to arrive and incur high postage fees for the library.

Staff will email to check if this item will still be required if there is an increased wait time.
