Footnoting with APA 7th

APA 7th does not have a standard for using references in footnotes. However the following is a recommendation for you to use in your unit assessments where needed.

A footnote is an annotation that appears at the bottom of the page which contains the reference to the source that you have used.

Footnote reference

This is the full reference with page location / pinpoint of the information used. This will follow APA style.

e.g. 

Author. (Date). Title of source. Source. URL. p. ##

Applying a footnote

Microsoft Word and a lot of word processors should come with a footnoting function. In Microsoft Word this is available through the References tab: 

Selecting this should give you an index in your text where your cursor was and a line in the footer connected to that index.

End-text reference

You will still be required to include a reference list at the end of your work. This includes all unique references that were used in your document.
