Read and Publish Agreements

Edith Cowan University, as part of the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) Consortium has signed Read & Publish Agreements commencing 2022.  The agreements provide opportunity for ECU authors to publish via Open Access on acceptance, and free of any transactional Article Processing Charges (APCs).

Information for each current agreement is below (select the publisher to show) with a list of the journal titles included in the agreement.

The 2022 Read and Publish Agreement with Cambridge University Press will allow ECU authors to publish an uncapped number of articles in the majority of their 400 peer-reviewed academic journals.

Information for Authors

Corresponding authors of ECU may publish open access once the article has been accepted, with no transactional article processing charge (APC).

Follow the normal submission process with Cambridge and on acceptance the APC will be automatically waived (page submission charges and colour charges may still apply).

The Creative Commons licenses allow reuse (some with conditions) while protecting the authors' rights of acknowledgment as authors. Authors retain copyright. Further information about the licences is available on the publisher's website.

Authors Step by Step guide to publishing Open Access in Cambridge journals

 
 
In 2022 ECU Authors will be able to publish an uncapped number of articles in any CSIRO title Open Access with no transactional Article Publish Charge (APC).
 
 
Information for Authors
To be eligible, authors must be listed as the corresponding author and submit the paper using their ECU email address and provide the institution's Ringgold ID.
Articles should be submitted via the publisher's submission system, ScholarOne
Articles may be published under the authors' choice of either  CC-BY, CC-BY-NC-ND  or  CC-BY-NC license.
Additional costs may be incurred to cover colour pages or reprints.

The 2022 Read and Publish Agreement with Oxford University Press will allow ECU authors to publish a limited number of articles in the 351 of Oxford's academic journals with no transactional processing charge.  Once the allowance is used, authors may choose to publish "closed access" or to pay the article processing charge (APC).
 

Information for Authors

Corresponding authors of ECU may publish open access once the article has been accepted, with no transactional article processing charge.

Follow the normal submission process with the journal title, selecting a participating institution as affiliated and using an email address from that institution.

The Creative Commons licenses allow reuse (some with conditions) while protecting the authors' rights of acknowledgment as authors.

ECU has signed to participate in the 2022 Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) Read and Publish Agreement with Springer.  The Agreement allows authors from participating Australian institutions to publish a limited number of articles open access, in most hybrid titles, without paying any transactional publishing charge (APC).

Corresponding authors of ECU may publish open access once the article has been accepted, with no transactional article processing charge.

The capped allowance of papers published under this Agreement is a collective pool for all participating Australian institutions.

Articles must be primary research or a review article and fees may be charged for colour or additional page charges.

Authors are required to provide confirmation of affiliation with an institution at time of submission.

The 2022 Read and Publish Agreement with The Company of Biologists will allow ECU authors to publish an unlimited number of articles in all five journals published by The Company  with no transactional processing charge.
