Engineering Quiz Challenge 2021

The Engineering Village Compendex Quiz is an annual quiz run to raise awareness about the Engineering Village database. Become familiar with the contents of the database & how it can help you with your research - and potentially win a prize. Last year, multiple ECU students won a prize.

This contest is not affiliated with ECU, but is open to ECU students who are current residents of Australia and New Zealand, and are at least 18 years old. Please check the terms and conditions of the contest before deciding to enter. The details are available on the contest website linked below.

The quiz will run from 9 August until 10 September 2021.

Engineering Village (Compendex) Quiz Challenge 2021

How to enter:

  1. Open the link to the quiz in your browser.
  2. In a new tab or window, open Engineering Village using the library link (below) and log in to your account. Then log in using your personal account in the top right-hand side of the database page:

Log in or create account in Engineering Village at the top right-hand side of the screen

If you don't have a personal account with Engineering Village yet, this is the time to create one. You do not need to use your ECU email account to log in, and we will not be able to recover your password for you (so make sure to keep it safe).

  3. Follow the instructions in the quiz, using Compendex (one of the databases within Engineering Village) to answer all four questions.

  4. Fill in your personal details. These details are not held by ECU. Please check your eligibility and use your judgment when providing personal details to outside groups.

  5. Finish the quiz.

This challenge will close on 10 September at 9:59PM Perth time (23:59 AEST). Winners will be chosen from entries with four correct answers, and will notified by email. Winners will be listed in October on the contest website. Check the contest site for eligibility, rules, and prizes.

For help

To ensure that the contest is fair, you need to answer these questions by yourself.

However, if you need help learning how to search on/use a database, or to use the learning technologies involved, I can help.

Send an email to library@ecu.edu.au addressed to Amy for help with aspects of this competition.
