The Edith Cowan Library- Research Services team facilitates a range of workshops specifically designed to assist research staff and higher degree by research students. We are able to develop and tailor sessions to meet the needs and requirements of a school, research group or other audience. Please contact us to discuss your training needs.

These are offered either on campus, as live webinars hybrid sessions or via appointment.

Understanding Open Research

Research funders, institutions and publishers are increasingly talking about Open Research. As a broad term which encourages accessibility, transparency and reproducibility of research and supporting information, Open Research includes the practices of sharing data, code, preprints, methods, or working in new ways such as Registered Reports.

This webinar will cover the different areas covered by current definitions of Open Research, and outline some of the policies and practices to support this in place at Taylor & Francis. Hear more about how you can increase the transparency and reproducibility of your research and ultimately have greater impact.

Publishing Open Access in Wiley and Hindawi Journals

Publishing Open Access in Wiley and Hindawi journals under Wiley and CAUL's 2024 agreement

This webinar is open to all researchers of institutions participating in the Council of Australian University Librarians’ (CAUL) transformational agreement with Wiley for 2024. Highlights include:

Open access publishing:

  • The benefits of open access publishing
  • Specifications of Wiley and CAUL’s transformational agreement and what these mean for authors
  • Wiley Author Services workflow for researchers when submitting open access Article Publication Charge (APC) coverage request to participating CAUL institutions as part of the agreement.

Tips for successful publishing:

  • Preparing your manuscript, selecting a journal and submitting a paper
  • What the peer review and production processes entail
  • Author resources we offer for support through the publication process
  • Publication ethics and AI

There will be time set aside for a question-and-answer segment at the end of the session.

ORCID Community Town Hall

ORCID - Integrating with ORCID

The third session in our I’m a Member, Now What?! webinar series is all about Integrating with ORCID.
