As a progressive university, ECU stands in solidarity with the 'Black Lives Matter' movement and its efforts in highlighting racial injustices and equality, and seeking to challenge the systematic nature of racism that exists all over the world, including Australia. Here is a statement about Black Lives Matter from Kurongkurl Katitjin, ECU's Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research.
ECU respects the Noongar people, the traditional custodians of the land on which our campuses are built. We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion, and to developing initiatives and study opportunities for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and staff.
