YouTube and other free sites have a wealth of video and sound links.

As well as these free services as a member of ECU you can access content from the following paid providers.

Please remember you need to access these through the library portal and log in using your student login details to be able to access.   ECU pays for your access to these services.  If you access them directly without going through the library (or using the links below) you will not have access to the paid content.

 

   Digital Theatre PlusDigital Theatre Plus has almost 600 videos of quality productions by classical and contemporary companies such as Shakespeare's Globe, The Royal Shakespeare Company, Broadway HD and the BBC as well as 700+  videos of lectures, interviews and documentaries, and 400 written resources.  You can search by title, genre, theme, people or series.  

Drama Online

 

 

Drama Online has more than 2000 play scripts. It offers the ability to search for monologues and do a full text search within each plays text.

There are also over 350 audio recordings of stage productions recorded by LA Theatre works with well-known leading actors. Shakespeare’s Globe on Screen film collection includes recordings of twenty one stage productions of Shakespeare's work produced by the Globe Theatre Company. Patsy Rodenburg's master class series is also available.   There are several "Video Tours" on the front page of this site.  It is worth watching them so that you can search Drama Online most effectively.

 

 

Academic Video Online (AVON) 

This database has 27 RSC productions of Shakespeare as well as thousands of videos relevant to all forms of performing arts.

Altogether it has more than 66,000 video titles covering a wide range of topics.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Naxos Music Library

Naxos Music Library  is a comprehensive collection of classical music available online. 
It includes the complete Naxos and Marco Polo catalogues of over 248,000 tracks, including classical music, jazz, world, folk and Chinese music. You can search for works by composer, artist, period, year of composition, instrument or genre and information is given about the works, artists and composers. NOTE: Copying, downloading, re-streaming, recording, reproducing and deeplinking is prohibited.

Naxos Music Library Jazz  is a collection of jazz music available online with 20,000 tracks of jazz from Naxos Jazz and the 22 labels of Fantasy Jazz, representing over 500 jazz artists. You can search and select works by featured artist(s), disc/song title and catalogue number.  NOTE: Copying, downloading, re-streaming, recording, reproducing and deeplinking is prohibited.

 

EduTV

 

 

Informit EduTV  provides content across a range of learning areas. As well as documentaries, EduTV includes programs broadcast on pay TV channels such as The History Channel, National Geographic, BBC Knowledge and Discovery.

TVNews : indexes Australian television news, current affairs and selected documentaries from the free-to-air networks with links to the digitised video content in a compressed format. All individual stories from a particular broadcast are indexed with a detailed synopsis. TVNews is updated daily, with stories appearing on an evening news broadcast generally being available for access the next morning.

Instructions on how to access, search and listen to audio streaming services.

NAXOS Phone App.

You can browse, stream and access your Naxos playlists offline when you login to the App on your mobile device:

  • Download the Naxos Music Library (NML) App from the App/ Google Play store.
  • On a computer, visit the ECU Naxos Music Library web site.
  • Navigate to the Playlists tab and sign up for a Student/Member Playlist Account. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the address supplied during sign up. Click the link in the email to confirm your account.
  • Login to the App on your smart phone or iDevice. The login you created for your Student/Member Playlist Account will be your login for the App as well.
  • The app allows you to download content for offline listening. Find what you'd like to download, tap the three dots to the right and you will be given the option to add it to your device. Downloaded tracks will be added to Offline Content which can be found in your Playlists. Content will remain up to 30 days on your device.
