Research Methodologies for the Creative Arts & Humanities: Exegesis

Further Reading

Exegesis:  in its original sense "critical explanation or interpretation, especially of Scripture" (Macquarie Dictionary).

In our context, where a creative work or created artefact is presented, especially as research, or as the major research component of a thesis or dissertation, the accompanying exegesis is a textual work which explains, defines, validates and argues for  the creator's theoretical and practice assumptions underlying the work.
