HARC: Helpful Academic Researchers Companion

HARC has been designed to answer the questions researchers ask at every step of the research life cycle

ECU's Open Access Research Datasets

Ask yourself: Are any reasons why your Research Dataset SHOULD NOT be made available for other researchers to view or re-use?

If you would like to make your research dataset available for re-use, Research Online publishes ECU's open access research datasets.

Researchers have some control over the level of public access to their research dataset:

  • researcher decides which part of their dataset is to be made public
  • should the dataset be available for immediate download or by email request

Services provided for Research Datasets:

  • datasets are given a DOI - authors can link to the open access research data in their papers
  • datasets are automatically listed on Research Data Australia  (reuse data repository for >100 Australian research organisations, government agencies, and cultural institutions)
  • datasets are automatically listed on Datacite (reuse data from more than 20 countries, includes data centers, libraries, government agencies, research universities and more.)
  • download statistics will be provided to authors as another indication of the impact of their work.

Edith Cowan University acknowledges and respects the Nyoongar people, who are the traditional custodians of the land upon which its campuses stand and its programs operate.
In particular ECU pays its respects to the Elders, past and present, of the Nyoongar people, and embrace their culture, wisdom and knowledge.
