This document aims to set out the competency-based occupational standards (CBOS) for speech pathologists in Australia at the level of entry to the profession. The CBOS statement was initially developed in May 1994 and due to changes in the practice of the profession in Australia and in the use of the CBOS document, was revised in 2001. The CBOS outlines the minimum skill, knowledge base and attitudes required for entry-level practice of the profession.
