Law: Mooting

Mooting participants take part in a simulated court proceeding, It usually involves presentation of a legal issue or problem against an opposing counsel and before a judge. It is perhaps the closest experience that a student can have whilst at university to appearing in court. You will gain tips on how to engage judges and techniques on how to structure your argument.

  • Establishing which team you are on and whether you are senior / lead or junior
  • Establish the time you will have to make your argument
  • Establish the procedure set out in the rules for the moot competition
