An ISBN is a unique identifier which identifies one specific version of a book or item. An ISBN is assigned to each edition and variation of a book for example; paperback, hardcover and eBook of the same title will each have a different ISBN.
OAIster is a union catalogue of millions of records describing open access resources. The OAIster was built through harvesting records from open access collections around the worldwide. These records were harvested using the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH).
